The Batam-Dumai Cable-system will be in operation commercially in Q4 2009. The system will cover more than 300 km optic fiber link between Batam and Dumai with the capacity up to 8 Lambda (8 x 10 Gbps).

Moratelindo Batam - Dumai Cable System

The Project MBDC is a 24 Core Fiber Optic link which connects the 330 kilometers Batam and Dumai. The link is using DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technology with maximum capacity of 8 Lambda (8 x 10 Gbps) and consist of both Submarine and Inland Cable that branches out to Malaka in Malaysia.

Moratel has appointed NSW Germany as the cable vendor and PT. Ketrosden Triasmitra as the main contractor, and the  10-months project is targeted  to be finished and running in November 2009.

The MBDC  long-run project will strengthen Moratel’s position as one of the Top Backbone wholesale companies in Indonesia. As well as serve to backup both MIC-1 International link and Domestic link.
